Job Description
The Inventory Specialist is a key member of the Nuage team, responsible for the day-to-day execution of all inventory-related functions for the linen division. This role ensures the accuracy of all inventory data, manages product flow, and serves as a vital link between various departments, helping to maintain product availability and resolve quality concerns. The Inventory Specialist's meticulous attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills are essential to supporting efficient operations and meeting business goals. The Inventory Specialist reports directly to the Director of Inventory & Purchasing Control.
Duties and Responsibilities
The key functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Inventory & Purchasing Execution
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the IE system by processing daily counts and making necessary adjustments, including the removal of inbound linens pulled from inventory.
- Executes the IAR (Inventory Adjustments and Replacements) process, ensuring all stakeholders meet their deliverables and communicating when expedited orders are necessary.
- Manages production planning and execution, setting daily priorities and ensuring the timely completion of work orders for conversions and repairs.
- Collaborates with the Client Success team with inventory transfers according to established plans to ensure product availability in appropriate locations.
- Leads the first article inspection process to ensure the accuracy and quality of new item deliveries.
Data & System Management
- Maintains accurate inventory records across all Nuage systems, including regular checks for errors.
- Enters and manages all product master data within the PIM (Product Information Management) systems, including product descriptions, categories, and specifications.
- Ensures all product data, from the website and marketing materials to the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and PIM systems, is consistent and up-to-date.
Collaboration & Interdepartmental Support
- Serves as a vital link to the Receiving, Shipping, Laundry, and Sewing departments.
- Coordinates with other departments to support various processes, including following up on transfer confirmations and ensuring all inventory item flows meet deadlines.
- Proactively problem-solves and resolves quality concerns related to inventory items.
- Assists with general vendor communication and follow-ups.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is a plus.
Experience:
- A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in an inventory, logistics, or operations support role, preferably within the rental or retail industry.
Skills:
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills and a meticulous approach to data entry and system management.
- Problem-Solving: The ability to identify issues and propose effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively coordinate with internal teams and external vendors.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with inventory management software, ERP systems, and a strong command of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
Knowledge:
- Foundational knowledge of inventory control, logistics, and supply chain principles.
