Sparkles, Sequins & Bright Lights

Modern, ethereal, and regal were the guiding principles for the “Modern Love Story” styled shoot Scott and Cara Nava of Carasco Photography envisioned. When it comes to the ultimate New Year’s Eve celebration, this table design truly embodies the perfect combination of glam and a great time! The opulent setting was shot in the iconic structure that is now The Langham, Chicago, and was the last of its kind designed by architecture luminary, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.

The regal tablescapes tied the theme together. A dazzling dose of gold accented a guest table with luxurious gilded linens, chargers, stemware, chairs, and their decorative sleeves. Ivory modern Louis chairs were striking at each end. A duo of tall vases with a hint of blush showcased arrangements that included roses, hydrangeas, and tulips in vanilla, magenta, and lavender tones were complemented by similar smaller bouquets in mercury glass urns. Fronted by a cluster of floral designs in the same pattern and palette, the sweetheart table was set apart with a sequined teal tablecloth. As a finishing touch, all place settings were topped with their own petite collection of pink roses.

New Year’s Eve in New York City!

New Years Eve – the absolute best time of the year to get glam, make declarations, drink bubbly, and to reflect on and enjoy the last moments of the holiday season before a fresh new year rings in, bringing endless possibilities with it.

For those of us in the industry, there is no better time to showcase our hosting talents than on NYE, when everyone is throwing elaborate affairs. So the question becomes how to do something really unique representing our personal style while keeping in the New Year’s Eve spirit?

This year, we are finding inspiration with three unique designs, influenced by NYC neighborhood – surely everyone will have a favorite to pick from. We teamed up with Ceci New York to curate some genius designer picks for the holiday season from our friends at Tinsel & Twine, jesGORDON/properFUN, and Matthew David Celebration. We invited them over to come up with some dream party designs at our New York studio combining Nuage Designs linens and Ceci New York placemats and name cards. No one got to see what the others were doing, and they each came up with their own interpretation for a  dinner party to inspire us all.

Check out the three stunning and magical looks below. They will certainly have you ready to host the ultimate New York New Years Eve party, no matter where you find yourself ringing in 2016!

BROOKLYN: Whimsical with Tinsel & Twine

Tinsel & Twine truly created a NYE fairytale with their magical table decor. There is just so much fun to be had at this table, and the mixture of our sparkling Emerald Sequin Taffeta–which really brings the table into NYE territory, with the addition of some furry woodland friends popping up in the dishware–showcases a party host that doesn’t take themselves too seriously and loves to have a good time. It’s impossible not to feel right at home with this decor. Check out the whimsical details below!

DOWNTOWN: Casual Elegance with Jes Gordon

Clean, cool, and beyond airy, Jes Gordon’s table design, featuring our Ivory Laurel linen, feels like what a brand new year represents – inspiring new beginnings.  Her use of winter roses and natural elements takes the table to the next level, while remaining true to the season. This is a table that doesn’t need to try too hard and one that really allows the elements to shine on their own accord. It really could not have been executed more flawlessly!

UPTOWN: Luxe with Matthew David

Matthew David’s luxe, twinkling palette is what NYE dreams are made of – the ultimate celebration. He manages to play with different variables of the same elements–including our Victorian Gold Matte Satin Lined napkins and our Charcoal Sequin Taffeta napkin band–without ever causing the table to look overwhelming; instead, the gold palette flows seamlessly together into one stunning table that is literally impossible to take your eyes away from.

Luxe Fall/Winter Wedding in Indianapolis

We are just so in love with Ryan and Taryn’s stunning wedding celebration. The rich colors, unique textures, and gorgeous details reflect a balance of comfort and luxe, perfect for the Fall and Winter seasons.

Meticulously planned by Boldly Chic Events, the celebration featured beautiful florals by Meg Catherine Flowers, a lovely cake and macarons by Confectioneiress Cupcakes & Sweets, vintage deco stationery by Interpretations, and a mixture of textured linens by yours truly (including our Champagne Ruffle, Copper Crinkled Taffeta, and our Goldmine Faux Dupini).

Ryan and Taryn started the day with a glass of champagne, happy tears, and huge smiles. They tied the knot at the Indiana State House in front of over 200 guests. The beautiful fall day did not pass by unnoticed – the sun was shining and the temperature was what a fall bride dreams about for her big day! Cocktails, dinner and dancing continued at Crowne Plaza Hotel Indianapolis Downtown at Historic Union Station

Once the guests arrived at the main reception, they were greeted with a grand display of mini boxes with gold-labels on each. Once they found their name and opened their box, they found their table and mini macarons (one of the bride’s favorite treats)!

Lasercut Inspiration & A Conversation with Ceci New York

This week we are just so inspired by lasercut florals, an elegant new take on traditional designs. Lasercutting is an amazing tool that allows designers to play with various textures, layers, and sensibilities to craft memorable experiences for their clients.

Because of this, we were able to get together with Ceci Johnson from Ceci New York, the ultimate lasercut invitation designer, and collaborate on a few curated looks for you. Ranging from the modern to the vintage, from the art deco to the traditional, we’ve prepared a handpicked selection of delicate, but edgy modern lace options below. And don’t miss our amazing and insightful conversation with Ceci! Her story is nothing short of amazing and so inspirating to hear.

LASERCUT INSPIRATION GUIDE:

Wedding invitations are not all made the same. Each one has its own unique personality and style which draws inspiration from the couple’s story and shared experiences, as well as their dreams and vision for their big day. A wedding invitation is meant to be memorable, and to share emotions of joy and excitement to their family and friends.

Ultimately though, a wedding invitation is a precursor (a sneak peek, if you will) of the couple’s wedding celebration – setting the tone for what is to come. This week, we paired a few invitation styles from Ceci New York with a handpicked selection of our linens to give you some fresh inspiration for your next event.

ART DECO:

The Art Deco trend is glamorous enough to never go out of style. Geometric patterns, shiny metallics, striking contrasts and luxurious fabrics add drama and glamour to all sorts of weddings and events. The Art Deco style–which emerged as the arts & design movement in France during the 1920’s–features ornate and extravagant details, bold geometric forms and rich colors, with a general lavish and opulent approach.

In recent years the love of Art Deco has been revived with movies such as The Great Gatsby and since then we’ve been seeing this ever-growing trend being translated into various weddings and events. If you’re looking to bring out the Deco Glam on your next event, make sure to check out our White and Gold Deco, Natural Mini Koi, and Copper Sequin Taffeta below!

VINTAGE:

The vintage trend is back with a bang. Its presence can be felt everywhere, especially in the fashion circuit and interior design; taking us back to a foregone era.

With its nostalgic value and eye-catching attributes, the “vintage” concept is creating ripples in the event industry for a reason! If you’re looking for a quaint and nostalgic feel on your next event, make sure to check out our Off White ShimmerPurple Big Lace, and Rose Iris below!

TRADITIONAL:

For those who deeply value family traditions and look to incorporate it in their wedding, the traditional design can still be fun and modern! While your details may be inspired from Victorian influences, make sure that your table linens soften your look and are able to bring unity to all the elements at play. A few of our favorite options for this style are the White Iris, Taupe Victorian Lace, and our Ivory French Lace. Above all, keep in mind that the table is the center of the party for each guest, so don’t be afraid to make it a little fun!

About the Design from Strictly Weddings!

Rose gold is one of the hottest additions to today’s color palette. just the right touch of femininity and dazzle. To create a bold ambiance without being excessively over the top Always Flawless Productions selected a beautiful and subtly detailed linen from Nuage Designs for their tablescape. This kept the high-end feel and created a stage that allowed the table decor to really pop. Breathtaking layers of vibrant color and detailed high and low florals from Jennifer Cole Florals breathed life onto the scene.

Each place setting was splendid using a rose gold charger, gold-rimmed dishes and glasses. To accent each place setting, a delicate individual mini two-tier cake by Cute Cakes sweetened the look of the striking gold menu from Take Note! Creations. The shoot was set under the Aria Pavilion that they draped in flowing white chiffon and lit with an abundance of romantic candlelight. This combination establishing an enchanting vision and warm ambience.

With the assistance of Lounge Appeal, an impressive lounge area was conceived. The white love seats were highlighted with rose gold throw pillows and graced with mirrored side tables that were donned with elegant cakes and glasses of rose champagne and gold detailed place cards. Guests would be sitting in the lap of luxury!
