Inspired by The Knot Pro Workshop at the US GRANT Hotel in San Diego

When it comes to hosting an events industry workshop, The Knot Pro really knows how to do it! We’ve partnered with them as their exclusive linen sponsor since 2017 and have gone from Hawaii to New York City with a ton of stops in between. Most recently we stopped over in San Diego, at The US GRANT Hotel, and had an absolute blast! Scroll through to take a peek into the workshop…

Welcome in! We’re loving the registration set up, from White Lace Events and Design, the planners and designers of the event. The natural and rustic look of wooden accents, wrought iron details and lots and lots of greenery gave the hotel sleek design a cozy feel. Oh and all the lemon details? We’re adding that to our fave-things-for-fall list.

Stepping into the workshop room, a set up for 200 attendees, we were taken aback! An ombre sea of our velluto linens, starting with our Steel Velluto, to our Charcoal Velluto, and ending with our Black Velluto, played so well with the hotel carpet (which we all know can be a thing). It also gave a cool effect in the space, creating a nice neutral base for the stage design, with beautiful furniture and stylish decor, to really be the focal point.

As we heard incredible presentations from The Knot team, local California event professionals, and friends from across the states, we picked up an appetite. Stepping into a garden inspired lunch we couldn’t help but gasp at the delicious design. With a blue and white table palette, set with our Royal Delft linen paired with our White Hemstitch napkins and our Indigo Velluto linen paired with our Snow Elizabeth Lace napkins, paired with wooden cross-back chairs and delightful floral arrangements from Botanicamuse, we felt as if we were dining in Italy!

Aside from connecting with friends, new and old, one of our favorite things about The Knot Workshops is the chance to really dig into our business, from headshots to one-on-one consultations, there’s a lot to explore. We’ve even joined in the fun with a space of our own where attendees can come meet our team, explore our linens, take home our 2018 Style Guide and discover our Design Trunk all in one place!

Have you had a chance to join us at #TheKnotWorkshop yet? Next stop is in Boston – nab a ticket and head out to meet us. If Boston is a little far from home, here’s the schedule for the rest of the year – hope to see you soon!

A Living Lookbook

There were marble tabletops, vertical tabletops and even swinging tabletops at #ALivingLookbook and we can barely control our excitement! This amazing event, hosted in NYC alongside our showroom collective, Bastille Flowers & Events, RedBliss Design, Sofia Crokos Events & Lifestyle, and BorrowedBLU, was a blast to concept and bring to life. Scroll through to immerse yourself in our living lookbook…

Welcome in! We flipped some tables around (and on their sides) to turn our collective showroom into an off the walls living lookbook – quite literally. Not only was this meant to inspire creativity, but also to connect like-minded creatives in our industry. Lucky for us, Marcia Selden Catering helped us set the mood with glasses of sparkling water and wine and a never-ending stream of snacks!

As a creative team, we came into this event wanting to inspire less traditional ways of looking at events. We rigged up five swings to showcase different tabletop looks, adorned with beautiful pieces from RedBliss Design, BorrowedBLU and an assortment of our linens and napkins. To give them a really striking contrast, they were set against a black backdrop with vibrant florals from Bastille Flowers & Events tying them together in an artful, organic form!

Across from the swings, set against our already existing floral wallpaper, we designed a vertical tablescape – giving attendees that perfectly Instagrammable overhead shot without having to lean over the tabletop. Sofia Crokos Events & Lifestyle anchored the setting with our Black Metallic Forest, adding in a pop of color with our Avocado Oxford napkins and mixed metal accents with a gold charger from RedBliss Design and gilded glassware from BorrowedBLU. The perfect mix of textures and colors to have this design jumping off the wall!

And for those who love an exposed tabletop, we gave our marble island a light summer refresh with panels of our art-deco inspired Nude Raleigh  linen. We can’t get enough of the gold napkin buckle RedBliss Design added to our Blush Ditsy napkin, giving a casual design an elegant touch! Add to that a stunning arrangement in shades of pink and red, from Bastille Flowers & Events, and you’ve got yourself a delicious place to dine!

We’re so grateful for our friends and partners that came by to say hello. From sharing ideas to saying cheers, it was quite the day! If you couldn’t make it, we’d love to have you by, give us a shout and come say hello!

An Outdoor Summer Wedding Styled Photo Shoot in Annapolis

Officially, we’re told, the first day of summer was June 21st and boy are we as ready as ever to get in the swing of the season! To us nothing says summer like dining al fresco – you know we love it! So when Heather Benge Events sent us images from the Annapolis Styled Shoots Across America stop, we were ecstatic! Scroll through to see why…

Usually when we think of al fresco dining it’s on a terrace or at a patio, rarely are we lucky enough to be set up at a place like Whitehall, a waterfront wedding venue in Annapolis, MD. Everywhere we looked we were happily surrounded by vibrant greenery and beautiful architecture. The setting was so nice that Brittany Branson captured it in a beautiful live watercolor painting!

We’re in love with the range of colors on this one! From the cake, from Angyono Cakes, to the invitation suite,  from By Brittany Branson, everything was decked out in brightly colored hues. The color palette was really set by the incredible arrangement of flowers, from Intrigue Designs. The florals ranged from a deep burgundy to a blush pink with an array of oranges and yellows in between. And the ribbons tied off of the arrangement? A perfect touch for this breezy outdoor design!

Heather Benge Events made sure not one single color of the rainbow was forgotten! She brought in beautiful blues with our Sky Velluto linen, which set the base for this design. Paired with ornate flatware and blue-tinged glassware, from White Glove Rentals, it came together like a dream!

What do you think, would you go brightly colored for your wedding? You know we certainly love it, let us know what you think!

How to use Specialty Napkins in your Wedding Design

We know, we know, there’s nothing like finding the perfect linen to really set the mood for your design. But we think, why stop there? Once you’ve got the base down, find a napkin that will really take the whole took to the next level. Scroll through for three different ways to add napkins to your event…

For that truly ethereal wedding look, we love how The Creative’s Loft used our Flax Elizabeth Lace Napkin. The neutral fabric with a linen touch tied in perfectly with the rustic feel of the evening. And a nice lace edge adds just a touch of playful to the exposed wood tables!

For a more corporate feel, we’re totally into Lindsay Landman Events’ use of our Coral Honeycomb Napkins paired with our Indigo Velluto linens and runners. This networking lunch, at The Knot Pro Workshop in Philadelphia, was a beautiful blend of elegant and fun. The mix of runners and full linens in a traditional navy blue were a perfect contrast to the bright hued geometric print!

For that summer vibe, we’re head over heels for our Floral Monet Napkin at this Styled Shoots Across America set up. Heather Benge Events designed this table, with our Sky Velluto linen as the soft blue base, letting the flowers and décor really shine bright in their bountiful colors. We think it’s the perfect place to grab a sunshine filled brunch.

From lace to prints and infinite colorful options in between, we think napkins add just the right touch of detail to any event! What’s your favorite from our collection?

An Outdoor Wedding at the Belle Isle Boat House in Detroit, Michigan

Follow us to the heart of downtown Detroit, a neighborhood in the middle of a revitalization. With our affinity for historical details and raw event spaces, we couldn’t help but fall for the Belle Isle Boat House, formerly known as the Detroit Boat Club. Styled Shoots Across America put together a beautiful waterside shoot here, scroll through to see it all…

Who could ask for a more beautiful location that the Belle Isle Boat Club? With its original details (just look at those moldings!) and patio with a water view, it might literally be the perfect place for a wedding. And those sun-drenched interiors really set the perfect scene for a lounge area. Especially if said lounge area is made up of tufted pink velvet pieces from Event Theory.

Let’s pop back outside to the patio, because why dine indoors when you could be outside? With views of the Detroit river and right onto downtown, this really has a great vantage point. Heather Benge Events set the table with our Chambray Dalusio linen, bringing in the bright blue skies to the tabletop. We love how the pattern is both ikat-inspired and has a Baroque feel to it – blending old and new, much like the venue itself. The tabletop decor, including our Flax Diana Lace Napkins, was kept subtle with coordinating blue glassware and traditional flatware, really giving the floral arrangement from Intrigue Designs space to bloom! We love the spectrum of pink hues, from light blush to bold fuchsia, that brought this table to life.

And all of the details tied in just beautifully! Our favorite piece? That delicious cake from The Dulce Experience. Set in a shade of blue that matched the tabletop, it was lightly brushed for artist effect and adorned with lovely flowers. We say, let them eat cake and then some!

A Tropical Welcome with The Welcome Bag Committee!

The date is set, everyone booked their flights and you and your beloved family and friends are jetting to your tropical wedding destination – hooray! Now that they’ve made the trek to soak up some rays for your big day, how can you give them a big warm welcome to the weekend?

Well, Jordan Payne, the founder of Jordan Payne Events, thinks you should have a special gift waiting to…well, welcome them to your wedding! That’s why she launched The Welcome Bag Committee, a service that can both design and provide beautiful, stylish welcome bags for wedding guests. Her fun new venture has a whole range of designs for whatever your wedding style – and, best of all, they double as beautifully curated gifts for any other occasion you’re celebrating!

We may be a little biased but we’re head over heels in love with her tropical-leaning pieces, such as the Palm Envy Tote and the Palm Leaf Blush collection. Can you blame us? They fall right in line with our Palm Springs linen and our Beverly linen from the Solstice Collection! It’s no wonder that we didn’t even hesitate when Jordan dreamed up a styled shoot with pieces from both of our collections, just scroll through to see the magic come together!

Jordan set the table for this styled shoot with our Palm Springs linen, a bright printed linen from our Solstice Collection that has summer written all over it! This style can go for barefoot casual or be dressed up for oceanside glam, which is just the vibe we’re feeling from this design. The glassware, in shades of green, is elegant enough for rose or just right for a margarita – whatever your pick!

How about the floral arrangement? David Kimmel Flowers blew it out of the ocean on this one! Bright blooms in shades of fuchsia and orange were woven in with palm leaves and succulents for an elevated take on a beachside arrangement.

We can’t get enough of the Ceci New York stationery and menu cards! The invitation, with laser cut palm motifs, gold foiling and light wood accents sets the mood for what’s to come on the big day. And the menu card? Cut in the shape of a monstera palm leaf with delicate hand watercoloring, it’s beautiful enough to frame!

The absolute most fun thing to see come together on this shoot was the pairing of The Welcome Bag Committee’s tote bags against our linens. As if one wasn’t already fun enough, the two of them make for a sure-fire fantastic party. We think it’s the perfect way to, as Jordan puts it, “celebrate guests celebrating you!”

Black and Gold Décor Inspiration for New Years Eve

It’s that time again, the end of the year and preparing to welcome in 2018 with a bang! Last year we were all about bright colors for the celebration, while this year we’re really feeling the gold love. Anchor down those metallics with some luxe black details and we are ready to party!

We worked with Rodri Studio on this lavishly elegant look, full of rich metallic and cascading orchids. The table was set with our Black and Gold Koi linen giving us the perfect base to build this look on. Rodri Studio gave the tablescape a modern feel with square mirrored pedestals topped with minimal arrangements of white flowers, including a centerpiece of cascading white orchids.

Keeping with our gold motif, we added in gilded tabletop accents such as our Clear Charger with Gold Rim and Stone Metallic Faux Dupioni Napkin paired with gold flatware. As for seating, mixing and matching two styles gave the table a fun added dimension! Our Rose Gold Phoenix Chair, an exclusive design, ran down the table with our Gold High Back Wing Chairs anchoring the ends.

Combining a stellar sequin linen with simply chic décor, we think this table is just the place we want to ring in the new year!

Setting our Table for the Holidays

We’re so lucky to work in an industry where joy and celebrations are our business. It’s a wonderful reminder to express gratitude daily and as Thanksgiving approaches we wanted to take a pause to share with you some of the things our team is celebrating this year. From travels to beautiful parts of the world to the birth of not one, but two gorgeous baby girls, 2017 has been great to us!

And we’re also gearing up for some excitement in 2018, a new collection in the works, which we’re so
thrilled to share a sneak peek with you! From The Social Office, a styled shoot featuring our Coral Istanbul Linen (coming soon!) that’s perfect for sharing Thanksgiving dinner. Pull up a seat at the table and scroll through to read all about it…

With much gratitude to the amazing team who dreamed up this table; it inspires us to share with friends and family at something to beautiful and inviting! We couldn’t have done it without Dori, at The Social Office, who designed and planned this. Thank you to all creative partners!

A Well-Designed Halloween Party Full of Spooky Surprises!

You’re never too old to partake in All Hallows’ Eve (let’s remember this amazing Halloween-inspired 75 th birthday party)! But that doesn’t mean you have to stick to the same boring old tricks. This year, Anna Lucia Events ditched the trite orange and black color palette for a more…elevated look. It’s just as scary and also twice as nice!

Set against the awesome industrial space of Saltblock Catering, in Tampa, FL, the event had a perfect blank canvas to work with. Exposed brick, concrete flooring and rafters across the ceiling gave way for many eerie surprises to pop up.

And while this was a very adult Halloween, there were no rules against playing with your cocktails! Saltblock Catering came up with some lively spirits ghoulishly announced on clear acrylic tombstones. Pick your poison!

If you dared take a walk around the event, you might run into ravens guarding their (rather chic) birdcages and delicious-looking red apple arrangements from 50Fifty Events. Not to mention the tragically beautiful floral arrangements (think shades of red with pop of black and beautifully dried accents) that were to die for!

Looking to take a seat? The space was outfitted with lounge areas made up of our Black Velvet High Back Sofas, Driftwood Nest Coffee Tables and Smoke Stone Stools alongside cocktail tables dressed in Black Metallic Forest and Black Velluto. A perfect pit stop to enjoy your Ghoulish Ginger Ale or Black-or- Blue- Caramel Apple. Poisoned? Perhaps, but deliciously worth the risk!

From the candelabras topped with skulls to the spiders hanging off the chandeliers, this is one spooky soiree we would not want to miss!

A Bridesmaids Brunch for the Modern Bride!

The days leading up to your wedding can be as exciting as they are stressful, why not do a little celebrating with your bridal party leading up to the big day? Michelle, from Lemiga Events had just that thought when she put together this fun and chic bridesmaids brunch styled shoot! We were head over heels with the idea because…well, you know we love any reason to brunch!

Kicking the morning off at Atlanta’s Legacy Test Kitchen, these ladies who brunch were enticed by beautiful settings of quiche, waffles and the cutest individual cakes from Confection Perfection – one for each bridesmaid!

We love the modern table setting, a dark slate hue set by our Charcoal Velluto, whose velvet-inspired touch gave it a nice warm feeling. The accents, in shades of blush and rose gold, really brought a lovely feminine touch without going over the top. Add to that romantic flowers from Ginger Rose and we are over the moon. It’s the perfect color palette for a sophisticated, modern bride!

But the most fun had to be seeing the gorgeous dresses from Fabulous Frocks Bridal. Lace, tulle and
sequins to be had!

So, all in all, wedding party brunches leading up to the big day get a big thumbs up from us. They’re definitely something we can cheers to!

Pretty Outdoor Brunch Inspiration at Miami’s W Hotel

It’s a beautiful day at the W Hotel South Beach in Miami, FL! Don’t believe us? Just check out this gorgeous blush design set by The Creative Loft in their garden! We could hardly contain our excitement seeing this perfectly delicate yet deliciously lush setting, photographed by Alee Gleiber Photography, giving us major brunch inspiration (and you know how we love brunch!).

Atop this table for eight, set with our Rose Metallic Burlap linen, we were delighted by bright florals, from Primerose Florals, alongside aromatic sprigs of eucalyptus. Just look at those blooms bursting in bright corals and light pinks, a perfect color palette for an intimate brunch or wedding celebration!
We love the eclectic touch in the chairs, mixing some of our decorative Ivory Athena Chair backs and Gold Blossom Interlaces with timeless gold chiavari chairs.

And the setting could not have been any more perfect! The W South Beach hotel, a destination for weddings and events alike, set the scene with it’s palm trees strung with twinkling string lights, an ideal place to transition from brunch to dinner without missing a beat. There truly is nothing like a Miami celebration!

Chic Backyard Party in Miami

There’s no place like Miami, Florida for a chic backyard soiree and this J Group Events party certainly does not disappoint! Set at a lush private residence overlooking the water, this tropical-inspired party was the perfect backdrop to enjoy a cool cocktail on a hot night.

Scattered throughout were high-top cocktail tables, their wood bases topped with upholstered tops in our Palm Springs fabric. To give them a luxe touch, J Group Events paired them with copper metal cafeteria- style stools and modern white orchid arrangements.

The lounge area was a mid-century inspired dream! Serpentine couches, in chartreuse and emerald green hues, and plush round ottomans in our Palm Springs fabric were accented with coordinating pillows in soft green velvets and palm leaf prints. Giving it that lavish touch, gold accent tables were interspersed with wood stumps and Eames-inspired lounge chairs.

And then, just below twinkling candles floating from the trees, the piece de resistance was a copper penny bar with the front fully decorated with real shiny pennies! We’ll have a martini and a seat, come join us!
