Traditional Weddings Inspired by History

Inspiration comes from in many ways. Often we are looking for what’s current and what’s coming when we should be exploring what’s in the past to find something refreshing. We did just that when we looked back to our own history here at home to find some traditional wedding inspiration to pair alongside an elegant styled shoot from Lindsay Bishop Events.

So, you can imagine our delight looking through this impeccable styled shoot from Lindsay Bishop, who not only planned and designed but also put together the lush florals for the day!

From a navy and white color palette to ornate silver décor, the details are everything in this inspirational wedding photo shoot! Clay Austin Photography captured every little thing not just on digital but on film as well – be still my heart!

We’re obsessing over the tabletop silver, from the serve ware to the punch bowl, borrowed from Terrace Oaks Antique Mall and Gryphon Estate Silver, and how perfectly it pairs with the simply sophisticated china from Sasha Nicholas and against our Navy Jamestown toile linen. Add to that Hatch Cove Designs’ stationery suite with grey-hued calligraphy, a dainty touch to tie it all together!

Of course this all came to life in the heart of Charleston at The Old Exchange, a location oozing with history’s sweet secrets. From cobblestone streets to old seaports, we’ll be keeping an eye for historical inspiration from here on out!
