Modern Antiquity Inspiration Shoot by William Parkinson Events

Vintage-inspired weddings are all the rage these days. But what do you do when you have to marry the bride’s soft and ethereal vintage style vision with the groom’s bold and modern approach to their wedding design? Well, wait no more. William Parkinson Events intends to solve this problem once and for all by just adding a little modern flair and some bold patterns to the vintage look in order to create what he calls Modern Antiquity.

The beautiful inspirational shoot took place at The Loading Dock in Stamford, CT, where William Parkinson and team were able to work their magic accentuating and softening the beautiful exposed brick with delicate drapery provided by Shindig Lighting. Traditional ceremony chairs were replaced with tufted leather lounge furniture in order to help bring a modern flair to the space, while incorporating some of our own patterned pillows for a more elegant and refined look. Don’t miss seeing our navy greek key alongside the talents of some outstanding collaborators in the photos below!

Concept Story via William Parkinson Events:

Who doesn’t love a great vintage inspired wedding? Add a little modern flair and some bold patterned designs and voila … Modern Antiquity is born.  More and more often, we’ve been asked to compliment a bride’s soft and romantic vintage style with her groom’s bold and modern approach to their wedding design.  This styled shoot aimed to marry (pun intended) these two styles together and the result was simply stunning!

The Loading Dock in Stamford, CT served as the perfect location to bring this style together.  For our ceremony space, we accentuated yet softened the beautiful exposed brick with some drapery provided by Shindig Lighting.  To help bring a bit of modern flair to the space, we replaced traditional ceremony chairs with tufted leather lounge furniture (also provided by Shindig Lighting) that we accented with mismatched jeweled and patterned pillows provided by Nuage Designs.  Rounding out our ceremony design were custom programs created by Social Alchemy that incorporated a clean and crisp layout complimented with a bold chain accent carried throughout the paper story for the day.
